We know state budgets regularly include funding for new and replacement fire and rescue appliances.
Loganlea Fire and Rescue Station deserves to be prioritised for a permanently based aerial appliance as part of that investment.
Logan is one of the largest and fastest-growing cities in Australia, yet we still do not have a permanently based aerial fire appliance.

WHAT IS AN AERIAL APPLIANCE?
An aerial appliance is a specialised fire and rescue vehicle equipped with a massive, extendable ladder. They are critical for industrial fires, hospital protection, rescues, rear property access and protecting surrounding homes and businesses.
Aerial appliances are not just used for high-rise buildings. They play a critical role in industrial fires, warehouse fires, hazardous materials incidents, rescues, hospital protection, and reaching areas that cannot be safely accessed from the ground.
As Logan continues to grow, with new high-density developments, expanding industrial precincts and critical infrastructure such as Logan Hospital, our emergency response capability must grow too.
WHY DO WE NEED ONE?
Right now, Logan relies on Brisbane, Ipswich and the Gold Coast for aerial response during major emergencies. For one of Australia's fastest-growing area, that's simply not good enough.
In a major emergency, minutes matter. Delays can impact firefighter safety, rescues, and fire containment.
The recent industrial fire at Queens Road, Kingston highlighted this challenge, requiring two aerial ladder trucks to be called in from Brisbane. If that region is dealing with a major incident at the same time, Logan is left vulnerable.

Logan firefighters deserve the equipment they need to do their job safely and effectively. Queenslanders in Logan pay the same fire levy as everyone else and deserve the same level of protection.
A permanently based aerial appliance at Loganlea would not only strengthen emergency response in Logan, but improve coverage across the entire southeast region.
This campaign is about community safety, firefighter safety, future planning and ensuring our growing city is prepared for the challenges ahead.
